Director Janet McCarthy-Burns Endeavors Into Development With ABC Comedy project

EXCLUSIVE: Top TV director Janet McCarthy-Burns is making her first foray into network development having a single-camera comedy project at ABC through ABC Galleries. Haught Mess, compiled by Ellen Rapoport, is definitely an adult family comedy dedicated to a lady who's caught between her new boyfriend and her lack of ability to express “no” to her brothers and sisters and mother. Rapoport and McCarthy-Burns are executive creating, with McCarthy-Burns set to direct the possibility pilot. Earlier this season, McCarthy-Burns directed 3 aircraft pilots, ABC’s Guy Up and Arrange It and Nickelodeon’s How You Can Rock, which visited series. McCarthy-Burns is better noted for her pointing focus on NBC’s Saturday Evening Live and 30 Rock, that has gained her an overall total of 6 Emmy nominations, most lately this season for that live 30 Rock. Also at ABC, the network has purchased a comedy script from author Shaun Lowell (Just Shoot Me) and Brillstein Entertainment, which created the NBC place of work comedy.
